HOLLY THE POINTER EARNS TOP HONORS AT NATIONAL DOG SHOW PRESENTED BY PURINA
Holly, a pointer, accompanied by her handler, Michael E. Scott of Chesapeake City, MD, basked in the glory of the Best In Show title at The National Dog Show Presented by Purina on November 22. After excelling gracefully through the breed and Sporting Group judging, Holly moved on to the Best In Show stage to win the prestigious title.
Holly’s (Ch. Cookieland Seasyde Hollyberry) success came in competition with over 1,500 dogs representing some 150 breeds at the annual Kennel Club of Philadelphia Saturday show, staged this year at the Greater Reading (PA) Expo Center. Holly is owned by Helyne Medeiros of Cape Cod, MA, and Sean and Tammy McCarthy of New York City.
Some 15,000 people attended the four-show cluster, including standing room only crowds for Saturday’s National Dog Show Presented by Purina.
NBC Research estimates 19.6 million viewers watched all or some of the two-hour National Dog Show broadcast on Thanksgiving Day, a 2 percent increase over last year's estimated 19.2 million and the biggest total audience for the "National Dog Show" since 2003. Annually, it is by far America’s most watched dog show. The Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s weekend cluster remains one of only five "benched" shows in the United States.

- Working Group: Samoyed; Hammy, handled by Andrew Green
- Terrier Group: Sealyham Terrier; Charmin, handled by Margery Good
- Toy Group: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel; Rocky, handled by Ted Eubank
- Herding Group: Australian Shepherd; Deuce, handled by Jessica Plourde
- Non-Sporting Group: Lhasa Apso; Lulu, handled by Susan Giles
- Best in Show: Pointer; Holly, handled by Michael Scott
