"UNO" THE BEAGLE TO APPEAR AT "NATIONAL DOG SHOW PRESENTED BY PURINA"

Fan Favorite and Westminster Winner in Reading this November

Reading, PA--- Uno the Beagle, 2008 Best in Show winner at The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, will meet and greet his adoring public this fall during "The National Dog Show Presented by Purina" weekend at The Greater Reading Expo Center.

UnoUno made history last February in New York City as the first beagle ever to win Best in Show at Westminster. A beagle had not even represented the hound group for Best in Show competition since 1939. Uno, however, came to New York's Madison Square Garden in February with 32 Best in Show ribbons and turned in a dynamic performance to take top honors. Handled by Aaron Wilkerson and owned by Caroline Dowell, Uno quickly became a fan favorite with his now famous "ah-roo."

Since his historic win, Uno (CH K'Run's Park Me in First) has been traveling the country with National Dog Show TV host and Westminster Communications Director, David Frei. They visited with President and Mrs. Bush at the White House, met the famed cartoon beagle, Snoopy, in California, and threw out the first "fetch" before Major League Baseball games in Milwaukee and St. Louis.

In honor of the fact that Purina® Pro Plan® is the nutrition of choice for 78 out of the top 100 all-breed champions, including Uno, the celebrated canine will appear at the Pro Plan booth on Saturday, Nov. 22 . In exchange for a $5 donation to Angels on a Leash, Uno will sign pawtographs and pose for photos. The organization champions the use of therapy dogs in healthcare facilities, schools, rehabilitation centers and a variety of settings.

Uno's appearance times on Saturday are 9:30-11:30 a.m. and noon-1 p.m. at the Purina Pro Plan booth.

Tickets for both Saturday and Sunday are available by calling Ticketmaster at 215-336-2000 or 717- 260-2000 and by visiting www.ticketmaster.com and searching National Dog Show. Ticket prices are just $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 years of age and under. The events start at 8

a.m. each day, continuing into the late afternoon and culminating in Best in Show judging around 6 p.m.

Kennel Club officials expect some 15,000 spectators at the Expo Center over the weekend, visiting with America's top dogs and viewing the judging contests for Best In Breed, Best In Group and Best In Show. Canine athletic exhibitions and scores of vendors and nonprofit animal organizations will also be on hand at the Expo Center.
